CrWMn die steel plate is alloy tool steel, oil quenching low deformation cold working die steel. The steel wearability, due to join the mass fraction of 1.20% ~ 1.60% of tungsten, form carbides so after quenching and low temperature to have ⼀hardness and abrasion resistance.Tungsten helps to keep fine grains from making steel more pliable. The steel is sensitive to forming carbon, which may cause the blade to spalling.Although the strength, hardness and toughness of the steel are higher than that of the carbon steel, it has defects such as easily cracking and grinding cracking due to carbide segregation. The quenching tends to carbon steel, and the application range is reduced. The hardenability and abrasion resistance of the steel as well as the hardness of chromium steel and chromium silicon steel after quenching are good, and the toughness is good.
CrWMn mainly used for carbon tool steel can not meet the requirements of large cross section, more complex shape of die parts, require less quenching deformation
1) This kind of steel is widely used in processing thin steel, non-ferrous metal, basic material of light load and complex shape cold stamping die, especially in the fields of clock, instrument, toy and product industry, etc. The effect of hedging austenite steel plate, silicon steel sheet and high strength steel plate is not ideal.
2) the thickness of the steel can be used to make material < 1 mm of blanking die complex shaped punch, concave die, set piece, and the intensive ⼀ strands of deep drawing die. Punch production suggested 58 to 62 HRC hardness, and the concave mold production suggested that hardness 60 ~ 64 HRC.
3) It is used for the insert of punch die with high wear resistance and complex shape in bending die. The hardness of punch die is recommended to be 58 ~ 62HRC and 60-64hrc is recommended to be 60-64hrc when making the punch die
4) A convex die and concave die for cold extrusion die of aluminum parts. The hardness of 60 ~ 62HRC is recommended for punch die and 62 ~64HRC is recommended for punch die.
5) For cold extrusion die of copper parts and cold extrusion die and die of steel parts, the recommended hardness is 62-64hrc.
6) After being forged, it can be used to make large veneer molds which are used on pressure machines of more than 1mm,usually increasing the hardness of steel to 50-55hrc. However, obvious tissue defects such as banded carbide structure or liquid chromatography should be reduced or avoided
