CCS (China Classification Society) shipbuilding steel plate refers to the hot-rolled steel plates used to construct the hull structure of marine vessels. CCS is a classification society and member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), which sets standards for the design, construction, and operation of ships and offshore structures.
CCS shipbuilding steel plates are generally divided into four grades: A, B, D, and E. These grades have different minimum yield strengths and tensile strengths and are classified according to their chemical composition and mechanical properties. CCS A and CCS B grades have a minimum yield strength of 235 MPa (34,000 psi) and a minimum tensile strength of 400-520 MPa (58,000-75,000 psi), while CCS D and CCS E grades have a minimum yield strength of 275 MPa (40,000 psi) and a minimum tensile strength of 440-570 MPa (64,000-83,000 psi).
CCS shipbuilding steel plates are used in the construction of various types of vessels, including cargo ships, tankers, container ships, bulk carriers, and passenger ships. These plates are designed to have high strength, good toughness, and excellent weldability, ensuring that the vessel can withstand the harsh marine environment and provide a safe and reliable transportation solution.
