ABS AH36, DH36, EH36, and FH36 steel are high-strength shipbuilding steel grades that are mainly used in the construction of hulls and superstructures for large shipping vessels. These grades have a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa (51,000 psi) and a minimum tensile strength of 490-620 MPa (71,000-90,000 psi).
The AH36, DH36, EH36, and FH36 grades are all classified as ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) approved steel grades and are also approved by other classification societies such as DNV GL, LR (Lloyd's Register), BV (Bureau Veritas), and RINA (Registro Italiano Navale).
ABS AH36, DH36, EH36, and FH36 steel have good toughness properties and high strength, making them ideal for use in the harsh marine environment. These grades are also resistant to corrosion and can withstand extreme temperatures and pressure. They are often used in the construction of large shipping vessels such as tankers, bulk carriers, container ships, and cruise liners.
