ASTM A514 Grade F is a quenched and tempered alloy steel plate used in structural applications that require high yield strength combined with good formability and toughness. A514 Grade F has a minimum yield strength of 100 ksi and may be ordered with supplemental Charpy V-notch toughness test requirements.
Applications
Typical applications for A514 Grade F include transport trailers, construction equipment, crane booms, mobile aerial work platforms, agriculture equipment, heavy vehicle frames and chassis.
Alloy steel plate A514 Grade F,A514GrF contains more kinds alloy elements such as Nickel,Chromium,Molybdenum,Vanadium,Titanium,Zirconium,Copper and Boron when rolling. The chemical compostion of heat analysis shall be comply to the below table. As for the delivery condition, high strength steel plate ASTM A514 Grade F shall be under quenched and tempered.Tension test and Hardness test shall be done in the mill when rolling. All the test result values for structural steel plate A514GrF should write on the original mill test certificate.
Alloy steels are designated by AISI four-digit numbers. They are more responsive to heat and mechanical treatments than carbon steels. They comprise various types of steels having compositions which exceed the limitations of Va, Cr, Si, Ni, Mo, C and B in the carbon steels.
