EN10111 DD12 Automotive Steel

EN10111 DD12 is a low carbon, hot rolled steel for cold forming. It is suitable for deep drawing and forming operations where the mechanical properties of the steel are not required. This steel is often used in the automotive industry for various applications such as body panels, brackets and reinforcements.

The chemical composition of DD12 steel includes carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and aluminum. The carbon content is kept low to ensure good weldability and formability. This steel also incorporates small amounts of manganese and aluminum to improve its strength and formability.

DD12 steel has a maximum yield strength of 170 MPa and a tensile strength of 340 MPa. It has good elongation and bending properties, making it suitable for deep drawing and forming operations. This steel is also easy to weld and has good surface quality.
