Cold rolled, hot rolled stainless steel coil
Hot rolled stainless steel coil concept
Hot rolled stainless steel, also known as stainless steel rough steel, hot rolled stainless steel coil is made of stainless steel continuous casting slab or preliminary rolling slab as raw materials, heated to 1,100-1,250 degrees Celsius by stepping furnace, high pressure water descaling into the roughing mill, finishing mill, after the final rolling, laminar cooling and winding machine to become hot rolled black roll. Hot rolled stainless steel coils are formed after pickling to remove the oxide skin. Most of the hot-rolled stainless steel is used as raw materials for the production of cold-rolled stainless steel, and a small amount is directly used as industrial materials for the manufacture of corrosion-resistant parts, containers and equipment in chemical, petroleum, machinery, shipbuilding and other industries.
Characteristics of hot rolled stainless steel coil
1. Poor toughness and surface flatness, low price;
2. The temperature of hot rolling is similar to that of forging;
3. The hot plate has oxide skin on the surface of the hot tie processing, and the thickness of the plate has a lower difference;
4. Due to its production process, it is more in civilian aspects, such as kitchen utensils, general household appliances, etc.;
5. Hot rolled steel plate, mechanical properties are far less than cold processing, but also inferior to forging processing, but has better toughness and ductility.
Cold-rolled stainless steel coil concept
Cold-rolled stainless steel is processed and rolled on the basis of hot-rolled stainless steel coil, generally speaking, it is a process of hot rolling → pickling → cold rolling. Although the steel plate will also heat up during the processing because of rolling, it is still called cold rolling. Because of the continuous cold rolling, the mechanical properties of cold rolling are poor and the hardness is too high. Must be annealed to restore its mechanical properties, not annealed called rolled hard roll.
Characteristics of cold rolled stainless steel sheet in coil
1.Cold-rolled steel plate due to a certain degree of work hardening, low toughness, the price is more expensive;
2. Cold rolling processing surface without oxide, good quality;
3. The product made of cold deformation has high dimensional accuracy and good surface quality;
4. Cold rolling is widely used in all walks of life due to its production process, such as all kinds of cold stamping parts, cold rolling cold extruded profiles, cold coil springs, cold drawn wire.
Difference between hot rolled coil and cold rolled coil
Cold-rolled coil is hot-rolled coil as raw material, which is rolling under recrystallization, but it is generally understood as rolling using normal temperature rolling materials. Hot rolled coil is made of slab (mainly continuous casting billet) as raw material, which is heated and made into strip by roughing mill and finishing mill. The hot steel strip from the last finishing mill is cooled to the set temperature by laminar flow, and is rolled into steel strip coils by the coiler. The cooled steel strip coils are processed by different finishing lines (leveling, straightening, cross-cutting or longitudinal cutting, inspection, weighing, packaging and marking, etc.) according to the different needs of users. Because of its high strength, good toughness, easy processing and good weldability, hot rolled steel plate products are widely used in ships, automobiles, Bridges, construction, machinery, pressure vessels and other manufacturing industries.
With the maturity of new control technologies such as dimensional accuracy, shape and surface quality of hot rolling and the advent of new products, hot strip and steel plate products have been more and more widely used and have stronger and stronger competitiveness in the market.
