269kVA rectifier VPI dry-type transformer shipped to South Africa
Brief information about this transformer:
One 269kVA VPI
dry-type transformer was exported to South Africa in 2021. This 269kVA dry-type transformer is used to power hot-dip galvanizing mills. There are three different sets of voltages on the secondary side, which can supply power to equipment of different voltage levels. It should be noted that these three sets of voltages cannot be used at the same time.
The manufacture of such transformers is very complex. It can be seen from the outlet on the secondary side that there are many outlets on the secondary side. When the coil is wound to a certain voltage, there will be a tap. Therefore, it is more complex than a regular transformer and takes longer to manufacture.
Transformer knowledge:
What is a rectifier transformer:
A rectifier transformer is a transformer in which diodes or thyristors are placed in the same box. Voltage regulation can also be included. Rectifier transformers are used in industrial processes that require large amounts of DC power. Typical processes include DC traction, electrolysis, smelting operations, large variable speed transmission systems, etc.
