What is the significance of hot-dip galvanized sheet finishing?

With the continuous expansion of the use of hot-dip galvanized sheets, in modern strip continuous hot-dip galvanizing units, the following purposes can be achieved by finishing the strip:

① Improve the straightness and flatness of the sheet, and at the same time flatten the zinc particles on the surface to make the surface of the strip smooth, which is particularly beneficial for future deep drawing and other occasions with high precision; ②The smoothing roller used has been shot blasted in advance, so the surface of the smoothed plate has a certain roughness. It can improve the adhesion of the coating and store a certain amount of grease, which is beneficial to the lubrication of the die during deep drawing processing; ③ For plated plates that will be painted in the future, even if the surface is controlled to have small zinc flowers, the small zinc flowers can still be exposed through the paint layer. Therefore, for some galvanized sheets with high requirements, the surface of small zinc flowers needs to be smoothed. This gives the galvanized sheet a more uniform silver-white appearance;

④ Through smoothing, the lower yield point can be reduced and the yield platform disappears or is less obvious, which can prevent slip lines from appearing during subsequent drawing or deep drawing processing and improve the possibility of deep drawing.
